"Not really worth the price"
I feel like I paid way too much for this, honestly. It’s not terrible, terrible, but for the price I expected a lot more. Just doesn’t really feel worth it to me

"Felt like a bait and switch"
I was really excited about this at first, but it feels like a bait and switch. It seemed like the battery would last a decent amount of time based on what was advertised, but mine keeps dying way too quickly. I’m constantly having to charge it, which makes it frustrating to use day to day.

"Works, but the range was a letdown"
The gate itself works fine, so no real complaints there. I just expected the remote to work from farther away than it does. Sometimes I have to pull up close before it responds, which is a little annoying. It’s not a bad setup, just didn’t quite meet what I had in mind

"Warranty support was more hassle than I expected"
My warranty issue took a couple of weeks to get sorted out. They did replace the part in the end, but I had to keep following up, sending the same info again, and basically do more work than I feel like I should have had to. It wasn’t terrible support, but the back and forth was slow and kind of annoying. I got it handled, just not as smoothly as I’d hoped.

"Keypad keeps losing signal"
It works here and there, but the keypad drops signal way too often for me to trust it. When it does work, it’s fine, but the constant connection issues are really frustrating and make the whole thing feel unreliable.

"I really wanted to like Ghost Controls..."
I really wanted to like Ghost Controls, but my trust in them is up and down. Their site looks decent and they seem like they know what they’re doing, but when I tried to get clear answers, it felt like a lot of things were left kind of vague. What bothered me most was the feeling that they promised one thing and then didn’t really follow through with the info or support I expected. Maybe they’re fine for some people, but I’d be careful before spending a lot of money with them.

"Decent opener, but I wouldn’t call it super reliable"
My snap judgment after using the Ghost Controls gate opener for a while: it’s fine when it’s working, but I don’t fully trust it. Setup was manageable, and on a normal day it opens and closes the gate like it’s supposed to. But every now and then it either responds slowly or just doesn’t react for no obvious reason, which gets annoying when you use it every day. It’s not a bad product, but I expected it to be more dependable.

"Pretty disappointing packaging for the price"
I ordered from ghostcontrols.com the packaging was not great. The box felt really thin, the corners were smashed up, and a few parts were just loose inside with barely any padding. Nothing really seemed protected for shipping, which surprised me considering how much this stuff costs. I expected it to show up in much better shape. Some of the parts just rattling around in the box was the part that was weird. Not the best first impression.

The gate opener works fine most days, so overall I’m happy with it. That said, getting it set up took longer than I expected, mostly because the instructions weren’t as clear as they could’ve been. that part felt avoidable. Customer support did get back to me, but it wasn’t exactly quick. For the price, I think it’s decent and it does the job, just be ready to have a little patience with it.

Install was simple overall, the instructions actually made sense, which was nice. It did take me a little longer than I thought it would, but... that might just be me taking my time. Works good now, so I’m happy with it.

"Constant tinkering after a while"
It was fine in the beginning, but after a few years it’s just been a hassle. Feels like every season there’s something new to adjust, replace, or reset. Batteries, sensors, random little parts — it all starts adding up. Support wasn’t awful, but most of the time they just pointed me toward another thing to buy. I’m just over dealing with it

"So-called tech support was useless"
I reached out to tech support thinking they’d actually help, but the support crew or whatever took ages to get back to me and still didn’t fix the problem. felt like I was annoying them just by asking.

"Replacement part was a hassle"
I tried to get a replacement arm part, but it was either out of stock or just really hard to track down. Support did not really help much and mostly just pointed me in different directions. Now the gate is stuck, which is frustrating after buying their whole setup.

"Not Worth the Price"
So, the hardware felt cheap for what I paid. The brackets and bolts didn’t seem very sturdy, and one piece had rough edges right out of the box. Installation was fine, but the gate never really felt smooth afterward, and I kept having to adjust it. Maybe I just got a bad kit, but I wouldn’t buy this again.

"I’ve had this Ghost Controls opener for…"
I’ve had this Ghost Controls opener for a few months now, and let’s just say it’s been a journey. The gate opens slowly, occasionally decides to stop halfway for no obvious reason, and the remote works whenever it’s apparently in the mood. For what it costs, I kind of assumed it would do the basic job consistently, but maybe that was asking too much. I definitely wouldn’t buy it again.

"Works, but setup and power issues are annoying"
It works most of the time, so I can’t say it’s a total dud, but the setup was more confusing than it needed to be. I kept feeling like I was missing something during setup, and that got old fast. Also, whenever there’s a power loss, it sometimes starts acting weird again, which is really annoying. Not every time, but enough times that it bothers me. It does the job most days, but between the confusing setup and the weird behavior after power outages, I just expected it to feel more reliable.

"Gate is fine, but the app is a headache"
The gate itself works fine, but the mobile app has been frustrating. It takes forever to connect sometimes, and then out of nowhere it’ll log me out for no reason. The buttons feel clunky too, like the whole thing just isn’t very smooth. On top of that, I’m not a fan of how the terms seem to change after you’ve already gotten everything set up. Not really what I expected.

What more can you ask for? It pulls my heavy gate open and closed easily every single time, without any fuss. I was a little unsure at first because the gate is hefty, but so far it’s handled it like a champ.
